Children’s Church CenterPointe has a dynamic Children’s Church where your children can learn Biblical concepts and form lasting friendships. Each class level offers a curriculum specifically tailored for that age group and includes craft projects and snacks. Other activities include summer camp, On Stage presentations, youth choir, ushering, and the Bible verse memory program.
Pre-School and Kindergarten Class Teachers: Shara Dutko, Millie Slagle, Ray and Phyllis Stewart, Carissa and Eric VanMeter
This class uses the My Great Big God curriculum which includes crafts, music and different stories from the Old Testament. We used a feltboard system to make a visual picture of the story. The children can then come up, move the pieces around and retell the story. Connecting a visual image to the story they’re telling adds an extra dimension to the experience. Elementary Class – Grades 1-3 Teachers: Jennifer Frim, Debi Hampton, Judy Hoban and Melinda Slagle
The elementary class uses the Heart-Shaper curriculum which includes a take-home brochure. This year we have added movie month complete with popcorn. Once every four months our students see portions of a full-length feature followed by a discussion about what was learned.
Impact Class Teachers: Bob and Lisa Bapst, Aaron Frim and Fian Kunesh
The Impact Class has been named to reflect our youth’s desire to make a positive difference in their world. They are using the Grapple curriculum which is organized around questions that many adolescents struggle with during their teen years. We also have lessons structured around music. Students learn to appreciate music, create songs to honor our God, and present them during church services. The Leadership Challenge offers several options with each presenting a different way of serving others. Once a month we offer separate class for boys and girls with the realization that they face different challenges and pressures in their walk with Christ through their teen years. |
